DC entrepreneur shot, killed early Saturday

A Southeast DC business owner has died after police say he was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

Investigators say at around 1:45 a.m., officers came to the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace, Southeast for reports of a shooting. DC police say they found a man, 39-year old Alexander Mosby of Southeast, DC, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officials say DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, Mosby was pronounced dead.

Mosby reportedly co-owned Southeast DC shoe and clothing store District Culture on Martin Luther King Avenue in Anacostia.

Capital Community News reports Mosby grew up in Savannah Terrace, along with his business partners and childhood friends Ambrey "Debo" Young, Maurice "Moe" Holton and Clifton Walker.

Officials say they are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
