DC deputy fire chief arrested for assault in Delaware
WASHINGTON - A D.C. deputy fire chief is being placed on administrative leave after he was arrested in Delaware for an assault.
Officers with the Milford Police Department took Deputy Fire Chief Jon Grover into custody in the early morning hours Sunday.
Police responded to a home on Smithfield Circle in Milford, Delaware at 4:37 a.m. for a report of an altercation. Following an investigation, police determined that Grover had assaulted the victim.
Grover was arrested and charged with assault third-degree intentionally or recklessly causing physical injury to another.
D.C. Fire and EMS told FOX 5 in a statement that Grover is not being paid while on "AWOL status," and he will be placed on administrative leave while the department conducts its own investigation.

"We can confirm that one of our Deputy Fire Chiefs, Jon Grover, was arrested outside of the District over the weekend.
We do not know the details of his arrest at this time, and he is not being paid by the department while on AWOL status.
Upon his release from jail, he will be placed on administrative leave while the Department conducts an initial investigation."
