Councilmember proposes building affordable, tiny homes in DC
WASHINGTON - D.C. Councilmember Vincent Orange recently proposed a bill to boost the number of affordable housing for millennials. The bill proposes building 125 tiny homes in each of the District's eight wards for a total of 1000 homes in all.
The selection process as to who will live in each tiny home will be targeted towards first-time homebuyers, those between the ages of 18 to 33, and those making minimum wage.
The homes would cost no more than $50,000 to build and buy.
