A convicted child sex predator in Fairfax County is facing new charges after additional victims came forward to police.

Elwood Thomas, 35, had already served time for molesting children at the now-closed Happyland Daycare in the Annandale area when he was arrested again.

While Thomas was on probation, three new victims talked to police.

He now faces eight new felony charges.

Thomas worked at the daycare before 2012, and lived in the home at that time.

Police initially investigated Thomas in June 2012. He was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery at that time.

Authorities accuse Elwood Thomas of Fairfax County of preying on children at an in-home daycare in the Annandale area.

Thomas served one year in jail after pleading guilty.

In July 2019, the additional victims came forward. They said Thomas sexually assaulted them between 2006 and 2010 while they attended the daycare.

Police charged Thomas with five counts of rape, one count of abduction with the intent to defile, and two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

The emergence of new victims made police concerned that there may be yet more.

Anyone who may have been victimized by Thomas should call (703) 246-7800.
