ARLINGTON, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - By now, you've heard all about Amazon's big move to Arlington. Now, for the first time, we are seeing the signs of change.
Things are definitely starting to happen in the Crystal City neighborhood that the tech company has set its sights on, but like all things Amazon, there's a lot of secrecy and questions.
Right now, on the other side of Route 1 on Crystal Drive, there are a few empty buildings and fencing wrapped around them that make it clear they are all apart of a larger construction zone.
On the other side of the hill is the Crystal City Metro Station, and on the corner, there are plans to put in new access to the station that is all a part of making Amazon's National Landing come to life.
On Wednesday, FOX 5 drove around the general area directly west of Reagan National Airport where there are cranes popping up and work is starting up.
Not too long ago, Northern Virginia company Muller Erosion Control & Site Services, Inc. confirmed that they too had started construction work for HQ2, which is happening on 18th Street South.
We reached out to Amazon to get their take on where things stand on this new construction for HQ2. We haven't received a comment as of yet.
