While it is terribly cold outside, a new restaurant is hoping to be a true "hot spot" for D.C. as locals venture out to get stave off cabin fever.

Island-influenced bar and grill the Coconut Club is near Union Market at 540 Penn St. NE.

The vibrant colors, relaxing atmosphere, and tropically-inspired drinks and food has all the makings of your next Instagram story.

Their menu offers poke, seafood, a variety of salads -- and even Hawaiian-influenced spam dishes.

For now, the Coconut Club is only open for dinner starting out with service Tuesday through Saturday. The restaurant says they will begin serving brunch starting in March.

And before you start to look at plane tickets to book your next vacation -- or plan to move to a warmer climate, FOX 5's Gary McGrady was there to check it out -- and hopefully send some island warmth our way!

More information and book a table through the Coconut Club's website.
