TELLURIDE, Colo. - A climber fell to his death while scaling the side of a Colorado mountain last week.
The San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office said the 53-year-old was from Rochester, New York, and was an experienced climber.
Deputies said he was alone on te Rock of Ages trail near Telliuride when he fell approximately 300 to 400 feet and suffered a head injury.
Another climber spotted him and called 911.

By the time first responders arrived, the man had succumbed to his injuries and was transported to a local coroner.
"The San Miguel Sheriff’s Office and SAR extend our deepest sympathies to the victim's family," the office shared on its Facebook page.
