It's that time of the week when we say "Cheers to the weekend!" Every Friday night, we invite a local bartender or mixologist to share their signature recipe with us.
This week, Edie Burns from Southern Efficiency in Northwest D.C. joined us to mix us up a few Super Bowl-themed cocktails.
Cocktail: Queen City Cocktail | 10 (CAROLINA COCKTAIL)
Recipe:
- 1.5 oz. Copper & Kings American Brandy
- .75 oz. Honey Syrup
- .75 oz. Lemon Juice
Shake, fine strain into a chilled coupe, garnish by expressing a lemon peel over the cocktail and dropping it in.

Cocktail: Gold Rush | 10 (DENVER COCKTAIL)
- 2 oz. Old Forester 100 Bourbon
- .75 oz. Honey Syrup
- .75 oz. Lemon Juice
Shake, fine strain into a double old fashioned glass over a large rock, garnish by expressing a lemon peel over the cocktail and dropping it in.
Cocktail: Cable Car Cocktail | 10 (SAN FRANCISCO COCKTAIL)
- 1.5 oz. Chairman's Reserve Spiced Rum
- .75 oz. Pierre Ferrand Dry Orange Curacao
- .5 oz. Rich Simple Syrup
- 1 oz. Lemon Juice
Rim coupe class ½ way with cinnamon sugar mixture, shake ingredients with ice, fine strain into coupe, garnish by expressing a orange peel over the cocktail and dropping it in.
Cocktail: Carolina Brown Water Punch | 7 (SOUTHERN PUNCH)
- 3 cups Old Forester Bourbon
- 2 cups Chairman's Reserve Aged Rum
- 1.5 cups Orange Juice
- .5 cups Lemon Juice
- 2 cups Honey Syrup
- 2 cups Simple Syrup
- 3 cups Fever Tree Soda
Combine all ingredients except for soda water, allow to chill for 2 hours, pour into punch bowl over large punch block, garnish with orange wheels.
