Brides across the Georgia panic over Alfred Angelo shutdown
DUNWOODY, Ga. - Hundreds of brides, bridesmaids, and mothers of the bride flocked to Alfred Angelo stores in Georgia, panicking over the word of store closures nationwide.
The Dunwoody, Georgia location remained closed all of Friday, with a posted notice for customers to contact a bankruptcy attorney.
"This is a nightmare," said one bridesmaid, who paid more than $300 for her dress for a wedding in a matter of days.
Another bride tells FOX 5 News, she paid $1,200 for a dress; the ceremony is in a month.
"It's awful. It's sad," said bride Karen Smith, who paid $900 for a down payment for her dress. She said she is grateful she has time to find a backup plan for her October wedding.
Women tell FOX 5, they are confused over whether they will even get a refund, or will ever get the dresses they paid for in full.
