Ambulance stolen from Prince George's Hospital Center -- again

Police say a suspect was arrested after an ambulance was stolen from Prince George's Hospital Center.

According to authorities, a Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department transport unit was taken from the hospital's ambulance bay by a recently released patient at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The medic crew was inside the emergency room when the vehicle was taken.

The ambulance was recovered a short time later over a mile away outside of a 7-Eleven store in the 6000 block of Arbor Street in Cheverly.

Fire officials say there was no damage to the ambulance and it is back in service.

This incident comes nearly two months after a 43-year-old Temple Hills man led police on a chase that lasted about an hour in an ambulance that officials say was stolen from Prince George's Hospital Center.
