Act of kindness inspires others to help single dad
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - The story of a single dad trying to care for his son and a man on a mission to spread kindness has gone viral, and we wanted to get an update.
James Moss recently moved from New York to Denver to give his son a better life, but his housing arrangement fell through, and they became homeless.
By chance, Moss met philanthropist Leon Logothetis, who is going around the world performing random acts of kindness. Logothetis gave Moss $1,000 and put him up in a hotel room for a week so he could get back on his feet.
"It's all about inspiring people to kind of connect with each other and to see the good in each other, as opposed to all of the bad things we hear about every day. There's so much goodness out there," Logothetis said. "It doesn't mean the bad things don't happen, because they do, but if we look at each other and we see each other and we connect with each other, then magic can happen."
After Logothetis' act of kindness, thousands of Americans wanted to step up as well. A GoFundMe page to help Moss has now reached $50,000.
