CHANTILLY, Va. - Fairfax County police are investigating after a car crashed into a fast-food restaurant in Chantilly early Tuesday afternoon.
Police say an 85-year-old driver attempted to push the brake pedal, but he mistakenly hit the accelerator. His car sped forward and hit the glass-enclosed portion of the Wendy's on Lee Jackson Memorial Highway.
Three patrons inside the restaurant were struck, but they suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The driver of the car was not injured.
No charges have been filed and alcohol was not a factor.
