GMU student arrested by FBI, accused of promoting violence against Jews
George Mason University student Abdullah Ezzeldin Taha Mohamed Hassan was arrested on federal charges in Falls Church, Virginia, by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force.
GMU President Gregory Washington confirmed that the student has been barred from campus and emphasized expanded safety protocols. Authorities continue to investigate the case, with details about the charges against the student yet to be disclosed.
Workers, customers held at gunpoint inside DC business, police say
The search continues for eight suspects who barged into a Northwest D.C. business with guns drawn demanding workers and customers turn over their goods. Police say flex cuffs were used to restrain at least three victims.
The incident happened at P1 Packaging. Police say the robbers stole nearly $2,000, an iPhone, designers wallets, a purse, jackets and more. All eight suspects got away.
8-year-old abducted near bus stop in Bryans Road; suspect arrested
A routine school morning turned alarming in Bryans Road after an 8-year-old boy was abducted near his bus stop.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office reports that at approximately 8:35 a.m. on December 19, Krystal Ninette Clay, 64, of Bryans Road, stopped in her white Chevrolet Malibu and asked the child to get into her car. Initially hesitant, the boy eventually complied.
DC Council committee votes to recommend Trayon White for expulsion amid bribery allegations
The ad hoc committee investigating bribery allegations against Washington, D.C. Councilmember Trayon White has voted to recommend the expulsion of the embattled lawmaker.
This unanimous decision follows the committee's review of a damning report, which found "substantial evidence" that White violated the D.C. Code of Conduct in office.
3-year-old boy shoots sister, 5, in DC
A young girl is fighting for her life after being shot by her younger brother Monday evening in Southwest D.C., authorities confirmed.
D.C. Police responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. in the unit block of Galveston Place, where they found the victim, a 5-year-old girl, inside an apartment. She was conscious and breathing but suffering from serious injuries.
D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith said the shooting occurred when the younger sibling, believed to be about 3 years old, accessed an unsecured firearm in the apartment.
