WASHINGTON - One person is dead following a series of shootings in the District during the late hours of January 8 and early hours of January 9.
The first shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Chicago Street in Southeast.
Shortly thereafter, around 9:40 p.m., an adult male was fatally shot in the 3700 block of Hayes Street in Northeast.
Three juveniles were shot nearby Eastern High School just before 10 p.m.
The shooting happened in the 1700 block of East Capitol Street in Northeast. FOX 5's Tisha Lewis reports the shooting happened after a basketball game at the school.
According to police, two of the shooting victims, both females, were found conscious and breathing. A third victim self-transported to the hospital to receive treatment.
All of the victims were shot in the lower extremities and are expected to survive.
At around midnight, a shooting took place in the 2400-2600 block of Pomeroy Road in Southeast.
About an hour later, another shooting happened on Hayes Street in Northeast. The shooting happened in the 3600 block this time.
