WASHINGTON - A total of 43 individuals were transported with minor injuries to local hospitals Thursday evening after a charter bus and Metro bus collided in Northeast, D.C., according to officials.
Of those transported, 42 were child from Ideal Charter School and one was an adult. There were four other adults evaluated at the scene, but they refused further treatment.
Officials report the children were riding on the charter bus and the accident occurred between Eastern and Randolph Street, NE.
Parents of the students were asked to pick their children up from Children's Hospital. As parents arrived, they were escorted to a room and are eventually being reunited with their little ones.
