30-year-old Minnesota man arrested in northern Virginia after traveling to meet with teen
FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. - A Minnesota man is in custody, accused of traveling to northern Virginia to solicit sex from a teenaged girl he met on TikTok.
What we know:
Police were called to a home in the 2000 block of Blue Ridge Court near Reston around 3 p.m. on Jan. 25 when a man told officers he found his 15-year-old daughter with a man at a rental property.
Investigators discovered that the man was 30-year-old Trent Fair. Fair is a resident of Minnesota and police say he traveled to engage in illicit acts with the victim.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by FOX 5 Wednesday, Fair and 15-year-old met about a year ago online. Detectives have since stated the online app used was TikTok. At some point, detectives said the victim revealed her age and Fair requested nude photos from her.
Fair then proposed meeting the victim for the purposes of sexual acts, according to the complaint.
"Suspect then traveled from MN, rented a room, Ubered the victims to the house, and engaged in the following sexual acts," the complaint states.
What People Are Saying:
A man who lives in the neighborhood where the crime was reported said he saw three or four police cars on Saturday.
"Everybody has to be cautious. To be candid, there’s a bunch of weirdos on social media online that have ill intentions. If I had children that were underage…I would monitor closely or I wouldn’t let them be on social media," he said.
"I have grandchildren. I’m sure their parents are monitoring them very closely to make sure there’s nothing going on or interacting even with these games they play where they have a bunch of people online, and they don’t know who’s who. Very cautious of that as well. If anyone gets too personal, wants personal information, it’s going to get cut off immediately."
Fair was charged with four counts of solicitation of a minor, five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Fair is currently scheduled for a court hearing on March 20. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure the victim is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.
Police Issue Warning:
Fairfax County police urge parents to closely monitor their children’s online activities and use security settings to keep them off of inappropriate sites.
Children should be encouraged to report anyone engaging in inappropriate conversations or trying to coerce them into providing sexually explicit images of themselves.
