ARLINGTON, Va. - The 41st Marine Corps Marathon is coming to town this Sunday, Oct. 30.
The mission of the marathon is to promote physical fitness, generate community goodwill and showcase the organizational skills of the United States Marine Corps.
The MCM will not only bring thousands of runners together, but it will also bring plenty of traffic to the Arlington, Va. area. With SafeTrack in place and Metro opening later than previous years, at 7:00 a.m., getting to the race will require extra time and patience.
The following road closures and Metro changes will be in place.
ROAD CLOSURES:
The MCM wheelchair/hand cycle division begins at 7:45 a.m. on Route 110 in Arlington, VA.
The MCM starts at 7:55 a.m. and will run through Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., the MCM10K starts at 9:15 a.m. and will run through Rosslyn.

Only the streets below will be affected on event day. Local jurisdictions will reopen the roads as soon as event course operations cease, with the MCM course officially closing by 3:10 p.m.

METRO:
The Metro will open at 7 a.m. on Oct. 30 and all MCM participants taking Metro should board the Blue or Yellow line to the Pentagon Metro Station to access Runners Village in the Pentagon North parking lot.
KISS N' RUN:
The MCM has also developed a location for runners to be dropped off on Marathon morning. Runners can walk to the MCM and MCM10K start lines by hopping out of a vehicle at the new "Kiss n' Run," location at the corner of Army Navy Drive and Fern Street. From there, they can proceed to Runners Village at Pentagon North parking.
POST-EVENT SHUTTLES
Runners and spectators can depart from the Finish Festival in Rosslyn and return directly to the parking area in Crystal City. These shuttles are parked at the corner of Oak Street and Wilson Boulevard in the Finish Festival.
POST-EVENT UBER SERVICE
An Uber stand will be located in the MCM Finish Festival on the corner of 19th and Lynn Streets.
Runners/spectators can also access Uber through the MCM App. Taxis will also be available in this location.
