2 suspects injured after police-involved shooting in Arlington
ARLINGTON, Va. - Two suspects have been hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting in Arlington, police said.
According to Arlington County police, this all started at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspect who was inside of a vehicle on 11th Street and S. Edgewood Street.
"During the course of that interaction, the suspect vehicle refused to stop and the suspect vehicle struck the officers," said Arlington County Police spokesperson Ashley Savage. "During that incident, the officers discharged their weapons."
Polie said there were two people inside the vehicle. The male driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The female passenger was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Her injuries are not believed to be related specifically to the shooting.
The two officers were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Arlington County police continue to investigate the incident.
