2 more people hospitalized after viral outbreak at Fairfax County nursing home

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (FOX 5 DC) -- Two more people have been hospitalized as a result of a respiratory virus outbreak at a Fairfax County nursing home.

The Fairfax County Health Department confirmed on Thursday that two people were dead, and 18 hospitalized after 54 people were exposed to the virus at Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield, Va.

They said the outbreak was confined to the assisted living and skilled nursing sections of the facility.

At the time, the health department was encouraged by the results of the facility's response to the outbreak.
