2 hospitalized in Prince George's County high school knife attack; student arrested
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. - Two students have been hospitalized after police said a third student attacked them with a knife at a Prince George's County high school Thursday morning.
Authorities said the incident was reported at about 9 a.m. at Central High School in Capitol Heights.
Police said 19-year-old Edwin Aguilar Martinez pulled a knife and stabbed two students inside of the building. The victims were taken to the hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. Both are in stable condition.
Martinez was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault and a weapons charge.
Investigators said the stabbing was sparked from an argument between the suspect and the victims over a female student.
The school was temporarily locked down during the incident.
