2 dogs maul woman's face in DC, police shoot and kill 1 dog, wound other

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Two dogs attacked and mauled a woman's face while she was taking out her trash in the District, according to officials.

DC police said the woman was attacked in the 3600 block Minnesota Avenue, NE at about 1 p.m.

Officials said the woman was taking out the trash when the dogs attacked her and mauled her face.

Authorities said they shot both dogs. One dog was killed while the other dog was wounded, according to officials.

The second dog was euthanized on Thursday.

Police say the woman's injuries are non-life threatening.
