2 in custody in connection with Oakton homicide: chief

Two people have been taken into custody in connection with a weekend homicide in the Oakton area of Fairfax County.

Investigators say the man suffered trauma to the body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminarily, Davis told FOX 5 that the incident stemmed from a simple dispute and was not gang-related. It’s unclear what the issue was, but Davis says the body had blunt force trauma and stab wounds and was discovered in the middle of Saturday afternoon near a popular walking trail near East Blake Lane Park in Oakton.

Neighbors said they were shocked to see this large police presence in a normally peaceful part of Fairfax County.

"This is unusual for something like this to happen in this neighborhood," neighbor Jim Robinson said.

"It’s kind of shocking in a way because this is a very safe neighborhood. Even though we have an incident here or there that’s popped up, but generally, it does not happen frequently," said Tianzhen Lin.

The victim is described as a 20 to 30-year-old Hispanic male.

We’re still waiting on an update from Fairfax County police or the Commonwealth’s Attorney, who FOX 5 has reached out to but has not heard back from.
