2 critically injured after crash between pickup truck, car in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - An early morning crash involving two vehicles in Northeast, D.C. left two people hospitalized with critical injuries early Wednesday.

The crash happened around midnight in the 4200 block Eastern Avenue and involved a car and a pickup truck. Police say emergency crews had to free two people who were trapped inside the wreckage of the car.

Cars parked along the roadway were also struck during the collision. Drivers can expect traffic delays in the area.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
