16-year-old voters headed to the polls in Hyattsville Tuesday for an historic election -- the first since the town changed its minimum voting age.
The teens went to the polls to vote for elected offices in the city, including the mayor and ten council members.
The minimum voting age was changed earlier this year after a public hearing and a city council vote.
Hyattsville is the second city in the country to lower the voting age to 16 after Takoma Park did so two years ago.
