13 injured in bus crash in DC, officials say

DC first responders are at the scene of a bus crash where 13 people were injured, according to officials.

DC first responders are at the scene of a bus crash where 13 people were injured, according to officials. 

WMATA says a Green Line Metrobus shuttle was headed from Fort Totten to Prince George’s Plaza when it struck a retaining wall at First Street and Riggs Rd NE just after 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival, crews found the driver trapped and multiple patients. The driver was extricated and they, one other person, were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. 

Three additional patients were transported with serious injuries, and seven others were taken to area hospitals with not serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

DC Fire and EMS resources, the North Mass Casualty Task Force and several other firefighting units and command officers were all on scene.
