12th homicide of 2019 after man shot, killed in Northwest DC; police identify victim

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Police in the District are investigating their twelfth homicide of 2019 after a man was shot and killed in Northwest D.C. Tuesday afternoon.

Officials say the shooting was reported just before 3 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Capitol Street. When officers arrived on the scene they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Davane Williams of Northeast D.C. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A reward of up to $2000 is available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
