12-year-old girl found safe after being reported missing from Fairfax County

Authorities in Fairfax County are searching for a missing 12-year-old girl.

ANNANDALE, Va. - Authorities in Fairfax County have found a 12-year-old girl who went missing over the weekend.

The AWARE Foundation shared the news Monday evening that Nelcy Gomez-Rivera had been located and is safe.

Before she was found, Gomez-Rivera's family last saw her on June 17 around 9 p.m. in the 4500 block of Commons Drive in Annandale.
