1 killed in early morning District Heights crash
DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. - A deadly single-car crash caused traffic to back up in District Heights heading into the rush hour commute early Tuesday morning.
Prince George County Police said the crash happened at about 1:40 a.m. in the 5400 block of Silver Hill Road.
Video from the scene showed a car that appeared to hit a utility pole and caught fire. Crews were able to remove the vehicle from the roadway and begin clearing the scene just after 6 a.m.
Silver Hill Road was closed in both directions as authorities investigated the cause of the crash.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately released by officials.
