An argument between two co-workers led to a deadly shooting inside a Damascus home, according to the victim's girlfriend.

The girlfriend told FOX 5 that she went to the home in the 24600 block of Ridge Road Sunday night with her boyfriend, Mario Alberto Perez, 40, and his 8-year-old son. She said Perez got into a drunken argument with Francisco A. Trujillo, 35, who lives in the home.

The men, who worked in construction together, argued over a work issue for nearly an hour before the girlfriend said Trujillo pulled out a gun and shot her boyfriend.

According to charging documents, Trujillo's wife called 911 just after 12:30 a.m. Monday to report that her husband shot Perez because "Mario was really drunk and threatened us."

Investigators said Perez was shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's girlfriend said the suspect's two sons were also home at the time, but the children were playing in another room and did not witness the shooting.

Trujillo has been charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bond.
