Washington Capitals surprise season-ticket holders with their very own Stanley Cup ring

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Washington Capitals season-ticket holders began to receive an unexpected gift in the mail on Saturday -- their very own Stanley Cup ring.

According to Russian Machine Never Breaks, a Capitals' fan blog, the surprise arrived inside a red box emblazoned with the team logo and the phrase "ALLCAPS" on the side.

Season-ticket holder Nikki Deacon told the blog, "I was curious about what I got from Indiana. When I opened the box, I was floored that we would receive a ring."

A note inside the box accompanied the ring thanking season-ticket holders for the unwavering support they showed the team during their Cup-winning season, the blog says.

There was also information on how season-ticket holders can renew for next season.

The renewal deadline is March 15, 2019.
