Washington Capitals Stanley Cup championship victory parade route, street closures and other info

Calling all Caps fans! Washington, D.C. will be celebrating the Washington Capitals Stanley Cup championship with a victory parade through the District.

The parade will be presented by Monumental Sports and Entertainment and is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12. Over 100,000 people are expected to attend.

-The parade will begin at Constitution Avenue and 17th Street, NW
-It will proceed along Constitution Avenue to 7th Street, NW
-It will then turn south and end on 7th Street and the National Mall with an #ALLCAPS rally

- Metrorail will operate rush-hour service levels throughout the day Tuesday to accommodate thousands of fans expected for the Capitals' victory parade in Downtown D.C.

- On Tuesday, the rail system will open at 5 a.m. with regular morning rush hour service. However, instead of scaling back during the midday hours, Metro will continue operating trains at those same rush-hour frequencies throughout the day and into the evening commute. Trains will depart end-of-line stations every 8 minutes, with service as frequent as every 2 to 4 minutes at downtown stations served by multiple lines.

- Regular weekday fare policies will be in effect: peak fares are charged before 9:30 a.m. and between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., with off-peak fares at all other times.

7TH STREET, NW PARKING RESTRICTIONS

-7th Street will be Emergency No Parking from 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 through 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
-7th Street will be closed from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW during the same time.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

The following streets will be closed from 9:30 am on Tuesday, June 12 through 3 pm on Tuesday, June 12:

-Inbound 14th Street Bridge Main Line - all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
-Inbound 14th Street Bridge HOV - all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
-Northbound 12th Street Tunnel - all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
-Eastbound Theodore Roosevelt Bridge - all traffic will be directed toward E Street Expressway/Potomac River Freeway
-Southbound 9th Street Tunnel
