Man rescued after car crashes into Rock Creek

WASHINGTON - A man was pulled from his vehicle after driving off the road and down an embankment into the water of Rock Creek Friday.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. where near where P Street crosses over Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway in Northwest, D.C.

Officials say the driver was the only occupant in the vehicle and was rescued by being pulled to safety up the embankment. He has been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
