Man, dogs escape fire at home in Northwest DC
WASHINGTON - A man and his two dogs safety escaped an early morning house fire in Northwest D.C.
The fire started around 3 a.m. Friday in a dental office located in the basement of a home in the 1600 block of Foxhall Road.
A police officer on patrol spotted the man running from the property. The man alerted the officer to the fire and emergency crews were called.
The man's dogs were safely evacuated. Two renters in the apartment in the back of the property also escaped without injuries.
The fire was placed under control shortly after 4 a.m.
Traffic delays can be expected along Foxhall Road between Reservoir Road and MacArthur Boulevard.
The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental and was believed to have been caused by an electrical malfunction.
