Woman dies after Frederick double shooting, suspect arrested

A suspect is now in custody after an 18-year-old woman has died following a shooting in Frederick, police say.

According to officials, 17-year-old Ean Lanell Davis-Lattimore has been arrested, suspected of shooting two people just before 2 a.m. Sunday at the 1800 block of Weybridge Road, near Greenleaf Park in Frederick.

Investigators say they found 18-year-old Genesis Marie McCarter-Berretto from Gaithersburg with a gunshot wound in her upper body, as well as a juvenile male with a gunshot wound in his lower leg.

They say responding officers administered life-saving efforts on McCarter-Berretto before EMS could get there, who also went to save her, but she was pronounced dead at the home.

The juvenile male victim was transported to an area trauma center, police say, and does not have a life-threatening injury.

At this time, investigators do not believe this is a domestic-related incident.

Davis-Lattimore is being charged as an adult, facing charges of first and second-degree murder, two charges of first-degree assault, and first and second-degree attempted murder.

Anyone with information that could aid detectives in their investigation is urged to call 240-409-0280.
