Washington Nationals TV analyst Charles Ray Knight will not face charges for Alexandria assault

Assault and battery charges have been dropped against former MLB player and Washington Nationals TV analyst Ray Knight.

Knight was involved in a physical altercation with a man in October at his home in Alexandria.

Knight's attorney, as well as the other man's attorney, appeared together before the judge on Monday and said both men agreed to drop charges.

Knight was charged with assault and battery, according to police. He was released from jail, and had been due to face charges with a court appearance Monday.

Knight played in the MLB from 1974 till 1988 for the Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers.

He later managed the Reds before becoming an analyst. He is a broadcaster for "Nats Xtra" on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.
