Victor Page had to be pulled off of underage victim by neighbors, mother says

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. - Former Georgetown University basketball player Victor Page is facing attempted rape and other charges, and new details are emerging in court documents released on Wednesday.

The day before New Year's Eve, residents in the Camp Springs neighborhood reportedly saw Page on top of his girlfriend's teenage daughter and called police.

According to court documents, the victim's mother said Page needed to pried off of the teenage girl, that he chased her, and that he choked her and tried to pull her pants off.

Page played basketball at Georgetown University with college and NBA legend Allen Iverson.

The victim's mother reported the incident to Page's parole officer since the former Hoya great was on parole in connection with an unrelated case.

In doing so, the court commissioner determined that there was enough evidence to charge Page and notified the State Attorney's office who then demanded police investigate.

According to court documents, Page knocked on the victim's door around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 30.

When she opened the door, he reportedly threw down a cigarette, threw her on the floor, and choked her.

The 17-year-old was able to escape, but Page reportedly caught up with her and tried to rape her again before neighbors rescued her.

Police, the State Attorney's office, and the court commissioner all refused to discuss the case on camera, saying it is in the early stages of the investigation.

Page has an extensive criminal history, including assault, indecent exposure, and sex offense.

Police say they began investigating after FOX 5 reached out to them. They had not interviewed the victim yet.

FOX 5 has been told that the victim is traumatized, and having difficulty attending school since the incident happened.

Page remains behind bars and is facing several charges, ranging from attempted rape to child sex abuse.
