Victim critically injured in DC apartment fire
WASHINGTON - A person has suffered life-threatening injuries following a fire at an apartment complex in Southeast D.C.
D.C. Fire and EMS said the fire broke out at around 7:46 p.m. Wednesday in the 3400 block of Minnesota Avenue. Video posted on Twitter shows large flames coming out of a first floor unit. The fire extended to the second floor, according to officials.
The victim was removed the burning apartment and transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The fire has been knocked down and is under control, officials said.
All of the residents in the 12-unit building have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
