WASHINGTON - The annual 17th Street High Heel Race takes place Monday night in Dupont Circle and FOX 5's Tucker Barnes got a preview of the action. He and Shiqueeta ran a dress-rehearsal outside of the station ahead of the main event.
Mayor Muriel Bowser will serve as the Grand Marshall for one of the year's most highly anticipated gatherings. Hundreds are expected to line up and cheer on costumed drag queens as they race down historic 17th Street.
Monday marks the thirty-second year for the race. Celebrations start at 5:00 p.m., the parade begins at 7:00 p.m., and the race kicks off at 9:00 p.m.
