Shooting reported near the University of Maryland Campus

Prince George's County police responded to a report of a shooting near the University of Maryland Campus in College Park Saturday evening.

According to the University of Maryland Police twitter, injuries have been reported after a shooting on the 7500 block of Rhode Island Avenue which is off campus in College Park, Maryland near the back side of Frat Row.

Prince George's County police say at about 8:20 p.m. officers responded to the area for a shooting. Once on scene they found two men injured.

One of the victims was taken to a local hospital suffering from a gun shot wound, his injuries appear non-life threatening.

The second victim was assaulted, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to police they are both College Students and the shooting does not appear to be random.

Police are continuing to look for suspects who were last seeing running towards the metro station in the area according to the University of Maryland police.

Detectives are working to establish suspect(s) and motive in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call Police.
