Real Housewives of Potomac Ashley and Michael Darby speak out after sex assault allegations dropped
WASHINGTON - "Real Housewives of Potomac" stars Ashley and Michael Darby have been in the spotlight, as husband Michael faced allegations of sexual assault by a cameraman from the Bravo TV reality show.
Michael has now been cleared of the accusations and is speaking out along with wife Ashley for the first time since the charges have been dropped.
The restaurateur and real estate developer continued to maintain his innocence through the ordeal. Bravo had reportedly suspended Darby from filming while the charges were pending, Fox News says.
Fox News reports the Montgomery County State's Attorney's office dropped its assault in the second degree and sexual offense in the fourth-degree charges against Darby on Oct. 4, Page Six confirmed Tuesday.
"Our good name and reputation have been upheld through the abandonment of this case by the Montgomery County State's Attorney's office. It is unfortunate that high profile people are often sought out as targets, and in this situation, someone tried to take advantage of me," Darby said in a statement.
