Possibility of snow over weekend after short-lived warmth Tuesday
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A period of short-lived warmth will bring temperatures in the upper 50s to our region on Tuesday - but don't get too comfortable!
The brief warmup will be followed by a period cold temperatures that will remind you it's still winter - and there is even a possibility that we'll see snow by the weekend.
FOX 5's Mike Thomas says Tuesday morning and afternoon will be mostly dry. Mild temperatures are expected to reach into the upper 50s. Some spots in sunny areas may even touch 60 degrees, he says. Expect showers to move in later this evening.
The jet stream will bring and lock in cold temperatures beginning on Wednesday and lasting through the weekend, Thomas says. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s and 40s with wind chills that could make it feel even colder!
As we head into Saturday and Sunday, Thomas says there is the possibility that some measurable snow could fall in our region. A very early look at some models suggest possibly an inch f snow could fall in our region.
