Police investigating in-custody death of 31-year-old man in Fairfax County
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Fairfax County police said they are investigating a death of a 31-year-old man in their custody Tuesday evening.
Officials said police were responding to the 4300 block of Mission Court in Alexandria responding to a domestic dispute when the man they were taking into custody suffered a medical emergency.
The 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said administrative and criminal investigations are being conducted.
Fairfax County Police Chief Edwin Roessler is expected to speak to the media about the incident Wednesday morning.
