Police: Couple kidnapped from bedroom at knifepoint, forced to withdraw money from ATM
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Police need your help finding a man they say kidnapped and robbed a couple in the middle of the night from their Northeast, D.C. bedroom.
Officers say the incident happened on December 6 in the 1200 block of West Virginia Avenue.
The victims told police they woke around 3:30 a.m. and found a man in their bedroom. They told officers he threatened them with a knife and demanded cash.
When the victims told the man they didn't have any money, police say they reported that the suspect filled a backpack with their belongings and forced them to drive to an ATM at a nearby store to withdraw cash. After they made withdraws of $200 each, police say the victims handed over the money to the suspect. He returned the back and then fled the scene, police say.
He was last seen running through an alley in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road.
