Elderly woman found dead inside home in Wheaton

WHEATON, Md. - A police investigation is underway in Wheaton after an elderly woman was found dead inside her home on Friday.

Montgomery County police said they received a call at around 3:18 p.m. about a person who was unresponsive. The victim was located inside a home in the 10500 block of Cascade Place.

Residents in the neighborhood said they were very sad to hear about the death of their neighbor. They said she was quiet, mostly kept to herself and lived with her husband. The couple has lived in the home for decades.

Neighbors said the couple, believed to be in their 80s, raised three kids at the home and now have adult grandchildren, including a granddaughter who had been staying with them off and on lately.

Police are simply calling this a death investigation and they said they do not believe there is any current threat to the community.
