Police conducting death investigation after body found at Frederick park
FREDERICK, Md. - Police said they are conducting a death investigation after a body was found at Harmon Field in Frederick.
Frederick police said just before 2 p.m. Monday, they were contacted after a person playing with his dog spotted the body on a jungle gym at the playground.
The park and playground is located off Winchester Street, nearby the Maryland School for the Deaf and a couple of churches in the area.
Investigators said the body may have been on the playground equipment for several days. The victim has not been identified by police and detectives are not saying what may have happened to the victim.
Video taken by SkyFox showed a tarp over the jungle gym and police evidence markers around the playground while detectives investigated the scene. Police have closed off the entrance to the park and have placed crime scene tape around the playground area.
A neighbor told FOX 5's Lindsay Watts he often sees homeless people sleeping at the park, but he is surprised the body may have been there for a few days because he saw kids playing soccer there after church on Sunday.
