Man struck by train at Benning Road Metro station

WASHINGTON - A man was struck by a Metro train at the Benning Road station Wednesday night, officials say.

D.C. Fire and EMS says firefighters have extricated the victim from underneath the train and he was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Metro riders encountered delays due to the incident. Blue Line trains were single tracking between the Stadium-Armory and Addison Road stations while Silver Line trains were running only between the Wiehle-Reston East and Clarendon stations.
