4 hospitalized after serious crash on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring
SILVER SPRING, Md. - Four people were injured in a crash between two vehicles in Silver Spring, officials say.
The crash happened at around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday on Georgia Avenue and Hathaway Drive. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer tweeted one person was trapped in their vehicle, but has been extricated.
All four injured victims were transported to the hospital. Two people were reportedly in life-threatening condition while the other two victims were in serious condition.
The northbound lanes of Georgia Avenue were shut down to traffic, but reopened later in the evening. Drivers should expect residual delays.
