Montgomery County Public Schools holding job fair for federal employees, contractors on furlough
ROCKVILLE, Md. FOX 5 DC) - Montgomery County Public Schools is holding a job fair on Tuesday and Friday for federal employees on furlough and government contracters.
Attendees can interview and apply for all open positions in the school system, including teacher, substitute teacher, maintenance staff, bus drivers, clerical staff and security.
Applicants are asked to bring their resume and federal IDs.
The job fairs are being held:
Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 45 W. Gude Dr., Rockville, Md.
Friday, Jan. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 850 Hungerford Dr., Rockville, Md.
Applicants can jump start their process by creating a profile online.
Fairfax County held a similar job fair on Friday for federal employees to apply for substitute teaching jobs, and is holding another on Tuesday as well. Both events were full due to an overwhelming number of applicants, according to the FCPS website.
The Fairfax County Public Schools event is being held Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the FCPS Administration Center, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042.
While the Tuesday event is full, applicants are encouraged to still fill out an online application.
