Metro Closures: Blue and Yellow lines shut down between Reagan Airport and Crystal City
WASHINGTON - Metro commuters in Northern Virginia can expect delays along the Blue and Yellow lines until Tuesday.
Metro is closing the Ronald Reagan National Airport and Crystal City Metro stations on Friday until Tuesday to make improvements and will have to use bus services to help commuters bypass the stations.
Metro said riders should expect delays and crowding. They also note that the "rush hour promise" will not be in effect for the Blue and Yellow lines.

On Friday, Nov. 9 and Monday, Nov. 12:
- Blue Line trains will operate in two segments: between Franconia-Springfield and Braddock Road every 12 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Largo Town Center every 12 to 16 minutes.
- Yellow Line trains will operate in two segments: between Huntington and Braddock Road every 12 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Mt Vernon Square every 12 to 16 minutes.
- Buses will replace trains between Braddock Road, Ronald Reagan National Airport, Crystal City and Pentagon City. Additional express shuttle buses will operate between Braddock Road and Pentagon City from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and between Franconia-Springfield and Pentagon from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11:
- Blue Line trains will operate in two segments: between Franconia-Springfield and Braddock Road every 12 to 15 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Eastern Market every 24 minutes all day.
- Yellow Line trains will operate in two segments: between Huntington and Braddock Road every 12 to 15 minutes during daytime hours and between Pentagon City and Mount Vernon Square every 24 minutes all day.
- Buses will replace trains between Braddock Road, Ronald Reagan National Airport, Crystal City and Pentagon City. Additional express shuttle buses will operate between Braddock Road and Pentagon City from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Regular service is expected to resume on Tuesday.
