Maryland man waiting to take driver's test arrested after drugs, gun found in car, police say

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - A Baltimore man waiting to take his driving test was arrested after marijuana, a gun and more than $15,000 in cash believed to be related to drugs were found in the vehicle he was going to use for the test, police said.

According to Maryland State Police, 22-year-old Reginald Wooding Jr. was waiting in line at the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) in Glen Burnie Monday. A driver's license examiner became concerned after smelling what she believed was a strong odor of marijuana coming from Wooding's vehicle, which belonged to his mother. The employee contacted a state trooper on duty at the MVA to investigate.

With probable cause, the vehicle was searched and police found almost one pound of marijuana, more than $15,000 in suspected drug-related money and a loaded 9 mm Glock handgun.

Wooding was arrested and charged with several drug trafficking and firearms charges.

After making his initial appearance in court, Wooding was released on $7,500 bond.
